Abstract


Chapter 7 of Library Technology Reports (vol. 58, no. 4), “The Census in Library Applications,” examines how census data is used by library practitioners, policy makers, and researchers within the field of library and information science. We review the literature on how the census is used for siting new libraries, understanding library user communities, and studying issues such as geographic distribution, accessibility, and equity.
