Chapter 6 of Library Technology Reports (vol. 58, no. 4) “GIS, Historical Research, and Microdata,” covers some advanced topics, typically the first or most common ones that new users of census data will encounter. These include using geographic information systems (GIS), doing historical analysis, and working with microdata. The Current Population Survey is introduced as an example of the last.
