In chapter 1 of Library Technology Reports (vol. 55, no. 2), “Mastering Mobile through Social Media: Creating Engaging Content on Instagram and Snapchat,” Alfonzo explores the world of Instagram and Snapchat from the vantage points of 11 library professionals. This mini–case study presents findings from several interviews conducted with those who have firsthand knowledge of managing Instagram, Snapchat, or both in a library. The results include a diverse set of real-world recommendations and methods for engaging patrons on these platforms, as well as help in scaffolding the practical ideas presented in chapters 2 through 4.
