Letter from the Editor

Welcome to this issue of the Journal of Intellectual Freedom
and Privacy
, where we continue to explore the evolving
challenges and responsibilities surrounding access to information, privacy rights, and the preservation of intellectual
freedom in libraries and related institutions. At a time when misinformation, censorship efforts, digital surveillance, and concerns over equitable access to information continue to shape public discourse, the work of information professionals remains more critical than ever.

Librarians, archivists, educators, and advocates are
looking for support and guidance as they navigate the intersection of policy, ethics, and service. The contributors to
this issue bring a wide range of perspectives and experiences, demonstrating that intellectual freedom is not a static
principle but an ongoing practice that requires vigilance, reflection, and collaboration. Their work reminds us that protecting the freedom to read, learn, question, and create is foundational not only to libraries but to democratic society itself.

As always, we are grateful to our authors, reviewers,
and editorial team for their thoughtful scholarship and
dedication to advancing these important conversations.
We also extend our appreciation to our readers, whose continued engagement strengthens the professional community committed to defending intellectual freedom and privacy for all.

We hope this issue encourages meaningful dialogue, inspires continued research, and supports practitioners facing these complex issues in their own institutions and communities.

Warm regards,

Dr. Jennifer Steele
