Abstract


Chapter 1 of Library Technology Reports (vol. 57, no. 6), “Introduction,” explains that it is possible to view metadata implementations as falling into one of two broad categories depending on whether they do or do not adhere to linked-data practices. Entities, properties, and values are concepts essential to metadata and metadata modeling and are handled differently in these two types of implementations.
