Monika Glowacka-Musial

Abstract

Chapter 1 of Library Technology Reports (vol. 57, no. 1) focuses on the opportunities that visualizations of digital collections’ data create for library users and the collections’ curators. Based on a literature review, the chapter discusses visualization as a method for exploration and analysis of digital content applied in business, academia, and cultural heritage institutions. Aesthetically appealing, rooted in data analysis, and easy to comprehend, visual representations enhance the value of digital collections and inspire library users to engage with digitized sources in new, creative ways.
