Chapter 3. The Current State of Practice

Abstract

In chapter 3 of Library Technology Reports (vol. 55, no. 7), “Protecting Privacy on Library Websites: Critical Technologies and Implementation Trends,” Marshall Breeding describes an ongoing study to track the progress of libraries implementing technologies with implications for privacy and security. The study aims to show trends among the body of libraries considered and to help individual libraries become more aware of enhancements needed to their websites to provide better safeguards for privacy and security.
