Chapter 3 of Library Technology Reports (vol. 53, no. 5), “3-D Printers for Libraries, 2017 Edition,” provides an overview of the software available for 3-D printers. There are three different types of software we’ll discuss in this section: the design software that allows you to create the 3-D object that you wish to print, software that you use to interface with the 3-D printer directly (host software), and management software that allows you to remotely control your 3-D printers.
