Chapter 4. Major Products

Abstract

This chapter takes a closer look at the major products in the category of library services platforms and the organizations that produce and support them. Products covered include Sierra from Innovative Interfaces, Alma from Ex Libris, WorldShare Management Services from OCLC, Intota from ProQuest, and the open source Kuali OLE project. The general strategic vision, general areas of functionality, a chronology of development, and current implementation status is given for each product.
