The Supreme Court, Curriculum, and Book Access: Advocating for LGBTQ+ Books in the Wake of Mahmoud v. Taylor
Abstract
In this commentary piece, we outline the recent Supreme Court decision, Mahmoud v. Taylor, and the potential impact the holding will have on intellectual freedom. We argue that this decision is part of a larger attack on LGBTQ people, including restrictions of LGBTQ books in public spaces. We end our commentary with suggestions for advocacy for LGBTQ titles and the freedom to read broadly.
