Abstract
The picturebook2 is a cohesive art object, and all of its parts,
such as the title page and front matter, should be noticed
by children, librarians, teachers, parents, and all other
readers. These parts are carefully and thoughtfully considered
by creators (e.g., editors, designers, art directors) of picturebooks.
In Storytime: Young Children’s Literary Understanding in the
