Collaborations Across Campus: Examining Pre-Service Teachers’ Experiences with a Library STEAM Camp
Abstract
As both place and service, academic libraries serve a vital role at the center of the university—as a
point of connection and possibility. In this article, we describe the UTA Libraries STEAM Camp, a
collaborative project in which pre-service teachers designed hands-on STEAM workshops for campers
ages 8-13 held across various spaces in an academic library. In addition, we share lessons learned
and adaptations made across multiple iterations of the workshops and how we evaluated the impact of
the experience on multiple stakeholders
